Bus: Queenscliff

Following on from my previous post, the number of passengers on the Queenscliff bound bus had decreased… so they weren’t going there.

The first place (after a visit to the loo) was The Rolling Pin Cafe in Queenscliff’s main street, Hesse Street.

Then after refreshments, off on our walk around the Borough of Queenscliff.

And over this weekend, Thomas The Tank Engine was running on the specialty railway line between Queenscliff and Drysdale. Didn’t get to have a good look because it began to rain and there were many kids lining up to take the trip.

Saw a pelican try and battle the windy waters of Swan Bay.

Then my Mum and I were off to Queenscliff Harbour. Too windy to use the stairs to go up to the 360 degree observation tower, so we took the lift (elevator for Americans).

The last pic there was of what I think is the waiting terminal and cafe for the Queenscliff to Sorrento ferry – I wouldn’t be doing that on a day like today.

We followed that by a quick walk along the beach. Wasn’t too windy, but it was chilly.

With the bus trip home not all that long away, we stopped in for fish and chips back in Hesse Street. Didn’t have time for much before the bus, so the rest will serve as dinner tonight.

In Australia we’re used to seagulls trying to grab a chip from us, but this time it was a magpie which didn’t mind the chips were super hot. I broke off bits and blew on them before throwing in the direction of the magpie.

And that concludes a relatively quick visit to Queenscliff.

Thanks for coming along for the ride (so to speak).
