Free public transport extended

The media is already doing this, and the opposition will no doubt join in decrying the Victorian government’s decision to extend from public transport in the state until the end of May (formerly the end of April), and going forward, half price until the end of the year.

There’s a state election in Victoria in November and already the media, including The Guardian is asking if this is an election sweetener. Who cares! This will be of great help to millions of Victorians.

Why is it that we must question the reasoning behind this move when it literally benefits so many people?

As for election sweeteners, I don’t want to hear about that from the Victorian Liberal Party. It’s not as if all parties don’t make promises when election time rolls around.
